a)
Before leaving the rental center, be sure you know the route to your
destination. If you must ask directions, ask a police officer or find a
well-lighted public place. Stay out of high crime areas even if it means
going out of your way.
b) When
you pick up the car, review it and tell the operator about damages and where
something is missing, because any damage or loss will be charged to you.
c) Have driver's
license with you at all time.
d) If
you are threatened with a gun or knife, give up your car immediately and
report the incident to police and the rental car company.
e) Keep
doors and windows locked and keep your valuables locked in the trunk or glove
compartment. Do not carry large amounts of cash. Do not pick up hitchhikers. Do
not leave anything in the car in sight.

Always park in well-lighted areas. If stopping to buy gas, to use a pay phone
or to use an automatic teller machine (ATM), choose well-lighted, busy
locations.
g) If
possible, avoid using an ATM at night.
h) Never
leave your car unattended with the engine running.
i) When
walking toward a parked car, be aware of your surroundings and check the
interior of the vehicle before unlocking the doors. Have your keys in hand
and ready when approaching your vehicle.

"Hoy no Circula" Program: This program is for people in Mexico
City, which indicates they are not allowed to drive one day per week,
depending on the last number of its plates.
k) Speed
limit for city driving is 60 km/hr.
l)
Obligatory use of Seat Belt.
m) Check
the water, oil and temperature of the car.
