BEACHES

  • Playa Principal o Municipal: Located in one of the borders of Zihuatanejo, it has calm waters. It is skirted by "El Pase del Pescador" where the local fishermen maintain their boats and fishing equipment.

  • Playa La Ropa: It is only 5 minutes driving of the town. It is the most beautiful beach in the area. It has restaurants, hotels and facilities for aquatic sports.

  • Playa Las Gatas: Its name is due to cat sharks accustomed to swim in this beach. Mysterious cut stones in a row are situated in front of the beach, and serves as a breakwater.

  • Playa Linda: There is a market of crafts and a rock jetty from which you will be able to go to Ixtapa Island.

  • Playa Cuachalalate: Ideal to swim and to relax. It is the most popular place in the island. There is a location for equipment rental, classes and diving trips.

  • Playa Varadero: Located at the other side of the island, it is the perfect place to see the sunsets.

ENTERTAINMENTS

  • DIVING: The coastal area of Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa, is ideal to practice this sport. There are 36 places considered as first category to submerge and to know the submarine world.

  • GOLF AND TENNIS: In Ixtapa, exist two golf courses of 18 holes, tennis courts and clubs in different hotels.

  • SURFING: You will practice this sport in the beaches because they have appropriated swell.

  • AQUATIC SKI: So much in Playa La Ropa as Playa del Palmar is possible to find people who offer this service, besides the parachute and " banana".

  • FISHING: An important fleet of crafts exists in this destination whose owners offer equipment rental and a guide for fishing. The favorite species are the marlin, fish veils, golden and tuna.

  • NIGHT LIFE: By the nights, Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo present an attractive offer from the Mexican nights in the hotels and discotheques, to bars that have enjoyable shows.
